THE MIRROR

The music scene has brought me a lot in my life in a very short time, and the place that introduced me to DIY music was called The Mirror. As the spring semester in Urbana settled down, The Mirror announced it would be closing it's doors. It was a DIY venue ran out of their own home, and they were moving to Chicago. 

To end the legacy of The Mirror, they announced a two night finale. This documentary covers the final nights of The Mirror as well as a bit of background about the housemates and the DIY Urbana music scene.

THE CITY SLEEPS ALONE

After starting going to shows and taking photos I was able to meet a lot of talented musicians who were eager to work with me. Manifest West is the first band I was able to make a music video for.

It was a fun experience. shot entirely on MiniDv tape, this video really showed where my interests are in terms of aesthetic. this lo-fi style is something that's cohesive in a lot of my work, whether it's film emulation or shooting on older analog hardware.

IN REVIEW 2023

I was finishing up college at the start of this year, and I had no clue where it'd take me. Things didn't work out exactly as I expected, but it doesn't mean I'm not proud of how far I've come. Very grateful where I am at the end of this year. 

It means so much to me to be able to put my art out there and get a response. Didn't have that for a long time. 

2024 is gonna be fun. Hope you're along for the ride.
